“Santillán is my primary yoga training and retreat destination and partnership venture, offering one of Europe’s finest fully equipped yoga studios, luxurious en-suite accommodation, a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities, and a fabulous peaceful location only 40 minutes from Malaga airport. This peaceful and spacious venue is the perfect retreat destination. With sea views from Santillán’s hillside location, the local Mediterranean beaches are only a short car ride away.”
We are excited to share the state-of-the-art 160m2 studio, featuring 24 deluxe stations of the Great Yoga Wall. The studio is fitted with a full range of yoga props, cushioned wooden floor, ceiling fans and other highly practical facilities for retreats and trainings. The studio, designed by Simon Low, provides the finest props available for this bright and beautiful space for practice. Our intention is to create the ultimate yoga studio experience for teachers and students of all styles of yoga.
Accommodation is in luxurious and spacious single or twin/double rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, balconies or patios, with fabulous sea views or views to the tropical garden.
This yoga retreat will feature 2 classes daily, morning and afternoon, with trained assistants present in all classess, so you will receive ample personal guidance and attention, with individual adjustments and modifications, where appropriate.
The morning class is a more dynamic yang style class with continually flowing vinyasa and a broad spectrum of asana that build energy, flexibility and strength while deeply honouring the natural rhythms and construction of human anatomy. Precision of alignment is balanced by circular and spiral movement patterns with particular emphasis on joint care and ease of movement. The afternoon class is a yin style class featuring deeply restorative asana alongside postures inspired by Taoist yoga that stimulate and balance the subtle body and the multi-dimensional web of connective tissues, offering a profoundly effective platform to embrace internal enquiry, the purity of presence, and the many facets of being.
